Thomson Reuters launches the free online version of the popular bibliographic management tool EndNote. EndNote Basic includes storage for two gigabytes of attachments and 50,000 references, as well as the top 20 most frequently used styles. The another online service EndNote Web is basically not free, but thanks to the EISZ program it continues to be used free of charge from the Corvinus University's LAN.
The first international EconBiz Open student competition was held from March 18th to March 31st 2013. Because the library has recently joined the EconBiz Partner Network, Corvinus students were also invited to participate in the competition. Their participation was successful: Markosz Panajotu and Enikő Molnár are the first and second international winners, the third national winner is Csilla Szente. Congratulations!

Március 18-31. között zajlott le az EconBiz Open adatbázis információkereső versenye, melyen a Corvinus Egyetem hallgatói is részt vehettek annak köszönhetően, hogy a könyvtár nemrég az EconBiz partnerintézményi hálózat tagja lett. Egyetemünk hallgatói, Markosz Panajotu és Molnár Enikő meg is nyerték a nemzetközi verseny első és második helyét, a magyarországi harmadik helyezett pedig Szente Csilla lett. Ezúton is sok szeretettel gratulálunk nekik!

Educational publisher Elsevier has bought Mendeley, the provider of a platform for academics and organizations to share research and collaborate with others via a social network. Many researchers are concerned about what the acquisition would mean for Mendeley's commitment to openness. Nagy vihart kavart a felhasználók körében az az április elején napvilágot látott hír, mely szerint az Elsevier kiadóvállalat megvásárolta a Mendeley-t, az addig független hivatkozáskezelő és -megosztó, a kutatók körében közösségi oldalként is funkcionáló szolgáltatást. Bár az új tulajdonos rögtön igyekezett biztosítani a közel 2,3 millió felhasználót arról, hogy az ingyenesség és a színvonal továbbra is megmarad, ezt mégis sokan kétkedve fogadják.
