First steps in the Library

Dear Freshman Student,

Welcome to the Library. We hope you will enjoy the coming months and years at Corvinus. Below you will find some important information about the Library.

When and how to register?
Registration is automated. You can pick up your Library Card at the Service Point on the 1st floor. Proof of identity is needed, please bring along your ID card or passport. After receiving your Library Card you are supposed to pay the fee (1000- HUF) on your Neptun account.  Whenever you come to the Library, please show this card to the security guard at the entrance.

Opening hours
From Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 9 PM and on Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM. Stack service closes one and a half hour before the Library closes.

What can I bring to the Library?
Big bags and bagpacks must be left in the cloakroom or use the luggage lockers next to the library entrance. The lockers are open from 6 AM until 9:30 PM and they are free of charge. Lockers must be emptied at the end of each day. Outer coats are advised to be left in the free cloakroom downstairs. Please do not put your coat on the seat next to yours.

Where can I find a librarian to help with my library orientation?
At the Service Point on the 1st floor you’ll always find a librarian you can turn to with your question. You can also contact us via our website or by e-mail.

Are there any places for group study?
There are 5 rooms for group study on the 1st and 2nd floor. You can reserve them for 1 or 2 hours in advance on the website of the Library.
 
What can I borrow?
You can borrow any book with white or yellow&white marking on its spine. You could also request books from the stacks directly from the Catalogue.

How can I borrow?
There are two self-service terminals near the entrance, it is very easy to check out and return books or extend the deadline.
 
How can I renew or reserve a book?
Once you have logged in to the Personal OPAC of the catalogue with your library card number and password you can renew your checkouts. When all the copies of a title you want to borrow are out on loan you may reserve the book by simply clicking on the reservation button. Further information on borrowing

How can I use library computers?
It is the same for all the computers at the University: use your CUSMAN username and password (which you have already created for your own) for login.
 
How can I connect to the internet with my own mobile device?
You can connect to the WiFi network of Corvinus University choosing the Cornet-EAP. User Guide on how to connect to the WiFi network. For your notebook’s safety please ask for a security lock from a librarian.  

Can I use the Library services and contents off campus?
Yes, if your computer is provided with a VPN connection to the Corvinus network. User Guide on how to set the VPN connection.

Food and drink?
On the ground floor of Building C there is a snack bar. In the Library there is a 'Sandwich Room' on the 3rd floor next to the stairs designated for eating cold and dry snacks such as sandwich, chocolate or fruit. No hot food is allowed anywhere within the library areas. Please do not eat in the reading rooms and clear your desk of rubbish.
