Thomson Reuters launches free online version of EndNote

Thomson Reuters launches the free online version of the popular bibliographic management tool EndNote. EndNote Basic includes storage for two gigabytes of attachments and 50,000 references, as well as the top 20 most frequently used styles. The another online service EndNote Web is basically not free, but thanks to the EISZ program it continues to be used free of charge from the Corvinus University's LAN.

Mendeley acquired by Elsevier

Mendeley Educational publisher Elsevier has bought Mendeley, the provider of a platform for academics and organizations to share research and collaborate with others via a social network. Many researchers are concerned about what the acquisition would mean for Mendeley's commitment to openness.
